Designed to be a gateway to legal information, the Legal Resource Network helps community women, ages 18 and older, to make well-informed decisions, based on a clear knowledge of their legal rights and responsibilities, as they move through life transitions.
For those who need more specific and individualized legal guidance, free 15-minute telephone consultations with volunteer Licensed Attorneys are designed to advise women of their legal rights and options in order to effectively problem solve legal issues. Dozens of attorneys currently volunteer their time to take calls from WRC clients providing legal advice on over 20 different areas of law including Civil, Consumer Rights, Criminal, Domestic/Family Law, Education, Employment, Traffic, Landlord/Tenant, Financial, Business, Bankruptcy, Immigration, Juvenile, Patent, Health, General Litigation, Business Start-Up, Personal Injury, Car Law, Real Estate, Contract Law, Wills/Probate and Debt Collection.
Clients schedule hotline appointments through the WRC either by phone, walk-in or by referral through our Community Resource Counseling services. Volunteer Attorneys commit to be in their office at designated times each month to take calls from our clients. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call 336-275-6090.
Legal Workshops, facilitated by volunteer Licensed Attorneys, teach women about the law, their rights and legal resources; present practical strategies to problem solve legal obstacles; and share information regarding specific legal concerns. These collaborative workshops, offered free of charge, provide high-quality, convenient, accessible and relevant educational experiences that provide life-enriching information, tools and resources so that women are better prepared to deal with stress, transition and crisis – which is central to WRC's efforts.
