An expunction (also commonly called an expungement) is a legal process used to permanently remove, seal, or destroy records of a criminal charge or conviction from public view. In essence, it treats the criminal matter as if it never occurred, allowing an individual to legally and truthfully state on most housing, education, and employment applications that they do not have a criminal record.

You will learn:

  • What qualifies/disqualifies you for an expunction in NC
  • What forms are needed for filing an expunction
  • Where you can go for assistance
